“Okay, Tyrese, go down about ten yards and veer left. I will lob the football over your left shoulder,” said Miguel in the tight huddle.

“Are you sure he will catch it?” teased Mike as he clapped his hands together. “He did drop two passes last week like they were hot potatoes.”

“Have no worries about me, Mike,” replied Tyrese with the grin of a Cheshire cat. “I’m wearing my football crew socks with the gray toe and blue stripes from SammySocks Etc. The last time I wore these socks, I caught seven passes. Two of those passes went for touchdowns. You will not be disappointed.”

The Hornets broke their huddle and trotted to the line. Tyrese lined up to the right about ten yards from the center. Miguel barked out the cadence for the center, Stanley. Stanley flicked the ball into Miguel’s outstretched hands. Pedaling backwards, Miguel deftly lobbed a spiraling football just over Tyrese’s left shoulder. Tyrese streaked left toward the opposite sideline. With fingers like glue, Tyrese plucked the ball out of the air, cradled it at his left elbow, and raced to the goal line. He crossed it untouched several seconds later. What a catch! His team had won the game.
