Hi! Your phone call gets dropped. The document you spent hours working on is suddenly gone. Your laptop freezes. Facebook is down. Your promising video does not go viral after all. The car will not start due to a “chip” problem. Your smart thermostat keeps turning on the heat. Your doorbell gets hacked and keeps showing you cat videos. Oh, the joys of technology.
We get impatient now if we have to wait .5 seconds for any videos to load onto our computers. We panic if we are suddenly unable to put our hands on our cell phone or leave it at home on a drive to the store. We curse if we have to rummage through our refrigerators to find out what we need to get from the grocery store if the “smartness” of the fridge is broken and it cannot tell us what we need. We get upset if our cloud-based voice service cannot understand what we are asking her to tell us. Our messages have to be less than 141 characters. Videos of more than 15 seconds will take special undertakings to be posted for all to see on a quite popular platform. Wow! The joys of technology.
Letter writing, land lines, encyclopedias, hand written documents, engine compartments of cars where you can practically climb in and sit while repairing – not replacing – engine parts, open windows to cool down the house, a door knocker on the front door. These are examples of “technology” before the technology of today.
One good thing about the technology of today is that you can order socks for yourself or someone else through the internet. Today is Cyber Monday. Visit us at www.sammysocksetc.com for a great selection of socks for children, women, and men.
