       There are some sayings that seem indelibly seared into our brains.

            “A penny saved is a penny earned.”

            “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

            “Experience is the teacher of all things.”

            “The best way to create your future is to create it.”

            “The good we do today becomes the happiness of tomorrow.”

       Well, in the Lyons’ household there are sayings that are just as indelible.

            “It’s taking too long!”

            “Go around you!”

            “Take it back!”

            “Any day now!”

            “I don’t know what to tell you!”

            “Rewind it!”

            “Is this new?”

       These are known as Sammy Sayings. Ever since Samuel learned to talk, he has been coining sayings such as these. He often repeats them in times of stress, frustration, and/or other intense emotional moments. He does not have much of a filter. Many times he utters these sayings even as the rest of us are just thinking them. But, due to social mores, we may think them but not voice them. Often, they fit the situation quite well.
